WOKE, CLUTTER AND OTHER PEACHY FRIPPERIES

WHAT THE HELL DOES WOKE MEAN — Look up woke in the dictionary. It is shockingly the past tense of wake as in Wake Up Little Susie. The extreme lunatic fringe would like us to believe woke means radical, Soros-funded socialist, anti-MAGA, FOX hating, Commie-pinko, Marxist, bleeding heart fellow-traveler. But it really doesn’t work. It’s just not a scary, dangerous word. Prediction: woke will fade into oblivion along with bunkum, bossism and two-bit.

AND SPEAKING OF WRONG WORDS — Democrats call lunatic right-wing politicians autocrats, authoritarians, oligarchs and totalitarians. Correct, but aren’t they’re all rather dapper, ten-dollar words? Let’s be clear. Trump, Taylor-Greene, Jordan, Cruz, Hawley, Gaetz, Boebert and all the others, are clear and simply would-be fascists, despots and dictators.

HOW ABOUT THAT NASTY PILE OF CLUTTER IN YOUR HOME — Leave it alone. To paraphrase psychologist, philosopher and biggie historian William James: “The art of being wise is the art of knowing which mess to overlook.”

WHAT POLITICIANS REALLY MEAN — “The only poll that matters is the one on election day.” They know they’re going to lose.

WHAT’S IN A NAME — In case you don’t know, there are absolutely no GRAPES whatsoever in Grape-Nuts. Yes it is “Power-Packed Nutrition.” But there are also no NUTS in Grape-Nuts either. So what were they smoking when they came up with this fictitious name.

A VALUABLE NATIVE LESSON — When the Navajos weave a closed-patterned rug, they deliberately create a thin line breaking out of the pattern to remind themselves — we simply are not perfect.
